Dualsonic Professional vs Maximum Alpha: Which Should You Buy?

Two devices, one brand, and a genuinely different answer depending on what you want. The Dualsonic Professional is a pure HIFU specialist that uses replaceable cartridges. The Dualsonic Maximum Alpha is a €1,250 seven-technology device with unlimited shots. Here is how to choose without guessing.

The one-line difference

Professional concentrates all its energy into HIFU lifting. Maximum Alpha spreads energy across seven technologies. Everything else in this comparison follows from that single design decision.

Dualsonic Professional Dualsonic Maximum Alpha
Technologies 1 — pure HIFU 7 — HIFU, triple RF, electroporation, microcurrent, red/yellow/IR LED
HIFU dot density Higher — 20 dots per shot, full energy reserved for lifting Lower — energy shared across technologies
Shots Cartridge-limited Unlimited — no cartridges to replace
Modes Depth modes via cartridge (3.0 / 4.5 / dual; 1.5 for eyes) Six modes: V-UP, FACE-UP, EYE-UP, TIGHT-UP, DAILY-UP, COS-UP
Body treatment Yes, via dedicated body cartridge (6.0 / 7.5 / dual) Face and neck focused
Companion app Protocol Hub from €14.99/month
Best for Maximum lifting intensity per session Complete skin routine in one device

The money, over three years

This is where the cartridge question decides things. Current list prices:

Product Price
Dualsonic Professional Set €2,000
Professional face cartridge (6,000 shots, 3.0 / 4.5 / dual) €620
Professional eye cartridge (1.5 single-dot, delicate areas) €490
Professional body cartridge (30,000 shots, 6.0 / 7.5 / dual) €640
Dualsonic Maximum Alpha (Ruby or White) €1,250
Protocol Hub €14.99/month or €119/year

Run it forward. A Professional owner treating the full face regularly will work through face cartridges; each replacement is €620. Two replacements over three years takes the Professional route past €3,200. A Maximum Alpha owner replaces nothing — €1,250 plus €357 for three years of Hub at the annual rate is €1,607, roughly half.

Set against that, the Professional delivers more HIFU energy per shot, so a Professional session does more lifting work than a Maximum Alpha session. You are buying intensity per session versus breadth and unlimited volume. The per-month arithmetic for the Maximum Alpha route is worked through in what home HIFU really costs per month.

Choose the Professional if…

  • Lifting and tightening are your only real concerns
  • You want the maximum result achievable per session and will treat less often
  • You want to treat the body as well as the face — the body cartridge reaches 6.0 and 7.5 mm, which the Maximum Alpha does not
  • You already have a skincare routine you are happy with and do not need microcurrent, LED or electroporation
  • You are comfortable budgeting for cartridge replacements

Choose the Maximum Alpha if…

  • You want lifting and firmness, texture, absorption and daily maintenance from one device
  • You would rather treat little and often than intensively and rarely
  • Predictable cost matters — no cartridge to run out at an inconvenient moment
  • You want the sessions structured for you rather than improvised, via the Protocol Hub‘s ten concern protocols and age-adapted schedules
  • You want to track progress with standardised photographs at weeks 1, 2, 4, 8 and 12 — see our 12-week guide

What is identical on both

Both are focused ultrasound devices and both carry the same non-negotiables. Conductive ultrasound gel is required, never a substitute. Both are prohibited during pregnancy and nursing, for children, for anyone with a pacemaker or implanted medical device, over metal or bio-absorbable facial implants, over recent fillers or fat grafts, and for people with a cancer history, recent radiotherapy or chemotherapy, severe thyroid disease, epilepsy, uncontrolled diabetes, extreme photosensitivity or active skin disease. Neither goes near the eyelids or eyeball, the lips, or the centre of the neck and thyroid.

Both carry KC, CE and FCC certification, and neither is waterproof. The full list is in the Maximum Alpha FAQ, and manuals for both are on the resources page.

The underlying mechanism is the same too — the collagen remodelling described in the histological research on micro-focused ultrasound applies to both, and is why both need weeks rather than days to show results.

Can you own both?

Some owners do: the Professional for periodic intensive lifting and body work, the Maximum Alpha for the weekly routine. It is not a cheap combination, but it is coherent — one is a treatment, the other is a habit. If that is where you are heading, talk to us first so the two protocols do not overlap dangerously; treating the same tissue with two devices in the same week is exactly the kind of over-treatment the safety guidance warns against.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better, Dualsonic Professional or Maximum Alpha?

Neither, absolutely. The Professional delivers higher HIFU dot density for pure lifting and can treat the body with the right cartridge. The Maximum Alpha delivers seven technologies with unlimited shots for a complete routine. Pick by concern, not by price.

Does the Maximum Alpha need cartridges?

No. It has unlimited shots and no replaceable cartridge, which is the main running-cost difference between the two devices.

How much are Dualsonic Professional cartridges?

€620 for the face cartridge (6,000 shots), €490 for the eye cartridge, and €640 for the body cartridge (30,000 shots), at the time of writing.

Can the Maximum Alpha treat the body?

It is designed for face and neck work. Body treatment at 6.0 and 7.5 mm depths requires the Dualsonic Professional with its dedicated body cartridge.

Does the Protocol Hub work with the Dualsonic Professional?

No. The Hub’s protocols are built around the six Maximum Alpha modes, so it is for Maximum Alpha owners only. Details in our Protocol Hub guide.
